About ANF
Pakistan Narcotics Board (PNB) was set up in 1957, in the Revenue Division in order to fulfil Pakistan's obligations under the International Opium Convention of 1925. Pakistan Narcotics Board (PNB) comprised representatives from the Provincial Governments and some Federal Ministries/Divisions. Pakistan ratified the Single Convention on Narcotics Drugs, 1961 on 15th August, 1965. Pakistan Narcotics Control Board (PNCB) was established in 1973 with five Regional Directorates, in response to UN Convention on Narcotics Control, with the mandate to combat narcotics in the Country. The Board functioned as an attached department of Ministry of Interior till 1989 with strength of 883 all ranks. During 1989, Narcotics Control Division (NCD) was established and the Board became its attached department. Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) comprising 388 all ranks from Pakistan Army was established in December 1991 as an attached department of NCD. Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) was raised on 21 February 1995 by merging ANTF and PNCB.

On 24 Apr 2022 at about 2025 hrs, 2 x Unknown individuals was fired near ANF Police Station D.I Khan while going to Mosque. He was immediately evac to DHQ Hospital D. I Khan where he did not survive injuries and got to Shahadat.
On 29 Dec 2021, while posted at PS ANF Turbat, he was attacked by unknown terrorists at Main Bazar, Turbat and martyred after receiving multiple bullets.
On 17 Jul 2020 (Friday), ANF recovered heavy quantity of drug from Mashkail. While coming back 50-60 miscreants / smugglers in 14-15 vehicles equipped with heavy weapons attacked ANF raiding party, officials of ANF fought valiantly, repulse them and completed the task. The fight lasted for more than three and half hours during the performance of sacred duty Constable (Driver) Amir Nawaz Khan embraced Shahadat. We pray that may Allah SWT rests him in the highest place in Jannah.
On 10 Aug 2020, a bomb blast occurred at Mall Road Chaman (probably fixed in a motorcycle). Explosion occurred when a Double Cabin vehicle ex PS Chaman, RD ANF Bln was on routine duty. Resultantly Sep Jalal Ud Din got injured and evacuated to hospital. On 24 Aug 2020, Sep Jalal Ud Din embraced shahadat.
On 07 Aug 2020 (Friday), ANF team raided a village Manga, Murree and recovered heavy quantity of narcotics. During operation, NK Muhammad Akbar embraced Shahadat while performing sacred duty. We pray that may Allah SWT rests him in the highest place in Jannah.
Lance Naik Azad Khan embraced Shahadat on 26 November 2012 at 0730 hours during Anti Narcotics Operation at general area Panjgur while serving with RD Anti Narcotics Force Quetta.
While performing duty at PS Faisalabad, Const Muzaffar Iqbal was detailed as member of rd blockage party. A veh was found suspicious and chased by the blockage party. The veh was forced to stop near Sial Mor Interchange on main motorway. The driver and co-driver left the veh and fled into the fields. The road blockage party chased them but they kept running and during the process fired 3 to 4 bullets on the officials chasing him, out of which 1x bullet hit Const Dvr Muzaffar Iqbal on his head. Resultantly Const Dvr Muzaffar Iqbal died at the spot
On 23 Aug 2017, a party ex ANF RD Balochistan comprising of 1x JCO, 11x officials and 3x vehs under supervision of AD Nauman Hanif were mov from Quetta to Gwadar for ops duty. At 1845 hrs, when party reached at Chashma Murad area approx 30 km ahead of Khuzdar towards Wadh, suddenly front left tyre of Double Cabin veh Regn No QAY-1048 Toyota Hilux bursted as rd was rusted and it was raining hy & veh toppled. Resultantly, the sldr sustained injuries in a rd accident and expired at about 1905 hrs on 24 Aug 2017 at CMH Khuzdar due to head injury (Cardio Pulmonary Arrest & Haemarrhagic Shock).

The individual died on 23 Sep 2013 at 2130 hours due to Electric Shock at Sukkur while performing ablution at hand pump in the Mosque.

After completion of op, while coming back from Kamra towards Attock Toll Plaza, the veh were stopped by Motorway Police, Toyota Land Cruiser bearing Registration No. IDC-5605 (GOP) was parked behind the Honda Car and one Mr. Jawad Altaf Raja, ASI got down to brief the Motorway Police Staff. In the meanwhile one over speeding oil tanker bg Registration No. GLT-8120 hit the Toyota Land Cruiser, which toppled and then it smashed the Car and dragged it for 100 yards. The driver of the car Mr. Zahid Mehmood, Const Driver died on the spot.
Embraced Shahadat on 8 October 2005 during Earthquake Operation at Bagh (AK). The officer who went beyond the call of duty to alleviate the pain of the affected. He valued humanitarianism more than life and was a popular figure. He left three children and wife to mourn.

While performing duty near Mardan, Constable Nowshad Khan signified to stop a truck but the driver instead of stopping, accelerated the speed however, the staff chased in a official vehicle and tried to over take the truck, but the truck driver collided the truck with the official vehicle and crushed it which caused the death of Constable Nowshad Khan, on the spot.

ANF Drug Demand Reduction Directorate(DDR)
The Anti Narcotics Force is a unique organization as it not only deals with interdiction of narcotics but also carries out demand reduction activities. Most of the countries in the world have separate organizations for enforcement measures and for demand reduction. In accordance with the UN Conventions on the subject, the Government of Pakistan has set up a Ministry to deal with the multi dimensional activities associated with the use of illegal drugs.
